Parallel Universe, Somewhere

What if there’s a place out there somewhere where I could lay my head on your chest, and we would be smiling happily while watching the sunset? Or a place where we could dance our heart out in our living room with that corny playlist of yours ’til we’re out of breath. Or even just a place where we could stroll around the town at midnight, walking side by side while our hands interlocked.

I wish there were another world outside of my own reality where I don’t feel like this. Where I’m not afraid of losing you or where my heart is big enough to see you leave. Where it won’t ache so much to look at the corner nook in my living room and be reminded of all the conversations and laughs we once had. I know this sounds silly, but the glimpse of what could have been between us makes me believe that, for once, I could throw myself into the ocean and not think about drowning.

What if there’s a place out there somewhere for us to fall in love?

I wish there were a universe where I wasn’t terrified of this one simple truth: I love you, I really do.

If only this universe fights for us to be together… we would just be.
